The main aim of other fandoms is that ateez should not be higher than their favorites by hook or by crook What matters is if a group is above ateez or not. Winning a competition does not matter.Everyone in ateez has done plastic surgery (I shiver at some of the things I've read).Everyone is a vocal expert and hence they collectively know that Jongho and all of ateez in general just can't sing properly. They are way too scary when doing halloween concepts.Their dancing looks like they're having seizure) Everyone is a dance expert and ateez always over dance (and the occasional. In this short time there are certain patterns of posts I noticed: I've been an atiny since the answer era and only recently (maybe 6 months back) decided to get more into twitter and reddit to support ateez more. Especially when it comes to their discography and concepts All of these rumors, speculations, and bandwagon criticisms from people who don’t know anything about Ateez or what they’re talking about in the first place, is what creates the negative image they have if you see it. If people aren’t trying to prove Ateez are mediocre flops that are undeserving of praise, then they’re trying to prove that KQ is on the same level as SM, or that Ateez are Mnet’s sons, or trying to say they’re famous because of Block B/KQ. And I can’t forget the time people argued over whether or not Wave/Illusion was actually a bright concept.haha 😑 In fact a lot of people hate Atinys because they hype up Ateez.

They basically hate Atinys because they hype up flop Ateez. And then there’s the people here who are obsessed with proving that Ateez are flops and don’t deserve any hype. It was so bad that UKO ended up banning posts on visuals. Those posts were the first things I saw whenever I googled ‘Reddit Ateez’ and it was baddd. That whole “I’m so grown and mature and I know everything” mindset is probably what led to the plethora of gross plastic surgery posts about Ateez. There’s also a bit of a superiority complex on Reddit, and some people here think they know everything when they actually don’t. It might as well be stan twitter but in complete sentences with proper grammar, punctuation, some reasonableness.and moderated subs. I thought Reddit would be such a great mature place but.it’s close but not really. Ah, memories :)Įventually, I got tired of stan twitter and I started checking out Reddit. I joined Atiny twt right before the chaos known as Summer 2020 started (and no it did not start with the CA or the Diary Film), and during what I think is the first wave of antis being exposed as ex-Atinys. The first time I joined stan twitter I saw Ateez/KQ Fellaz blow up for their dance to Pick It Up and many people loved them, so I just assumed people still liked them there but man was I wrong.
#Ateez pre debut full#
That was when I started finding YouTube comment sections full of people hating on Ateez and spreading false info about them because kpop stans will be kpop stans.Īnd then I joined stan twitter again and everything got ten times worse haha.

For me it was definitely 2020, specifically the first half of 2020 and it was all most likely triggered by MAMA, GDA, and the release of Answer. I’ve seen some say it started when Ateez started going to Kcons in 2019. For Atinys that have been there since debut, a lot of them say the switch up started around Wave era when they got their first win.

I was more of general Kpop stan so I saw most things and kept up with most things, including the way kpop stans switched up on Ateez. At this time, I also wasn’t really that deep into specific fandom spaces. Ateez was THE token nugu boy group in 2019. Man.I used to think they weren’t hated too! :D The thing is I got into Ateez around Wonderland era, and that was a time when Ateez had a lot of hype and bandwagon stans. If there is a lot of hate, is it directed towards the group itself or the fandom? I would love to hear other people’s thoughts and experiences with this, regardless is you are an Antiny or not. I’m curious if this is really the case or if it’s just some fans blowing the hate of a few antis out of proportion. But as I was browsing through Reddit I continued to come across posts of people talking about how Ateez receives a disproportionate amount of hate. In general I try not to get involved with antis of any group and try to surround myself with positive Kpop communities as best as possible. According to some, Ateez has a particularly bad reputation that I was not aware of and I was pretty surprised when I started hearing this. But now that I’m on these platforms, it seems like there’s a lot of people who really dislike Ateez, at least according to many fans. So I’ve been a fan of Ateez for some time now but I was never really active on Twitter or Reddit and didn’t really interact with too many Atiny.
